When we have spaghetti night at our house, we HAVE to have Alfredo sauce! My husband is the only one in our family who enjoys marinara with hamburger or meatballs. This Alfredo sauce is so easy to whip up, and tastes SO much better than any sauce from a jar!
I like to gather all of my ingredients before beginning. You’ll need minced garlic, a cube of butter, cream cheese, cream, Parmesan, and of course, pasta to pour the Alfredo sauce over! Oh, you’ll also need some salt and pepper, but that kinda goes without saying!
Start by melting your butter with the garlic in a medium saucepan over med-low heat. When the butter is all melted, pour in the cream.
Add the pieces of cream cheese and whisk till completely melted. The addition of cream cheese to traditional Alfredo recipes helps to bind the ingredients together so the sauce doesn’t separate as easily. It also gives the sauce more body and a creamier texture.
Remove from heat and add Parmesan, salt and pepper. Parmesan cheese is quite salty, so start small.
Whisk till smooth. Pour over hot cooked pasta and enjoy!
